*UPDATE* Waiting and Praying

*We have sold 45 pieces of our 252 piece puzzle*

Thank you so very much to those who have donated to helping bring the missing piece of our puzzle home!

Our home study is completed and approved! Yay!

We are working with an adoption agency in Arizona and an adoption attorney in Florida. The reason we are looking to adopt out of state is because Georgia has a 14 day revocation period. Meaning, we could have our baby for 13 days, and on the 14th day the birth mother could choose to keep her baby. Arizona has a 72 hour revocation period and Florida only has 48 hours.

As for right now..

We wait, pray, wait, and pray..

We pray for the day we receive a phone call that we have been chosen, from our profile book, by a birth mother to be the parents of her child. This is so scary and excited at the same time. We have prayed and prayed for this child and its mother daily, that they will both be in good health and will have all the support they need both before and after the adoption is completed.

We ask that you continue to pray for this exciting journey we are on!

With Love,

Chris, Katy & Weston

Baby Cline Puzzle Fundraiser

Everyone who donates to our adoption through this fundraiser becomes a permanent part of our adoption journey; a piece of our puzzle!

Here's how it works:
~We have customized a 252 piece puzzle. Each piece will represent someone who donates to help us bring Baby Cline home!
~Each piece of the puzzle is a minimum of $20.
~You may just want to be represented on one piece of our puzzle or on many pieces!
~Your name will be written on the back of each puzzle piece you represent!

Once our puzzle has been completed, we will hang it in a double sided frame in our nursery. This will be a beautiful keepsake for us and Baby Cline to cherish forever! We will always look back and be reminded of your generosity and investment in our family!

You will be a part of completing the missing piece to our puzzle!

So when our puzzle is completed, we will have raised $5,040 for our adoption!

We would be so blessed and thankful if you were a part of this fundraiser! To get your puzzle piece, you can donate through PayPal to my email address katyirene8@aol.com or you can email katyirene8@aol.com or send me a Facebook message for our address, if you are interested in sending cash or check, or have any questions!

I will be updated this blog regularly with the progress of our puzzle so you can see where you fit in on our puzzle!

**We had our first consultation this past Monday, and another in one week. We are working on our adoption profile and once this is completed we will be available for mothers to choose our family for their baby! Our home study (labor pains) is approved and being written! Please continue to pray for our family and our birth family!

With Love,

Fundraising for Baby Cline!

Fundraising for Baby Cline!

Hi friends! It's been about a month since we announced our adoption! We have felt SO loved and encouraged by so many of you since making our big announcement!

We have been incredibly busy this past month with brainstorming fundraising ideas and moving forward with 3 agencies to assist in our adoption. I hope this post will help answer some questions you might have about the financial part of adoption- how much our adoption will cost, what the cost will cover, why we are fundraising, and how much we need to raise. We want to be upfront about this fundraising process for a couple of reasons. One is because we get asked these questions so often! Also, our hope is to educate people about the adoption process and that includes the financial part of it! Another reason is because we want the people involved in our fundraising to know the details about what their giving is going towards!

How much will the adoption cost?
First let's start with how much we are anticipating to spend on our adoption. The average adoption is typically somewhere between $30,000 to $50,000. Our adoption will be around $40,000. We aren't sure what the final expenses will be yet, but as of now, we are expecting it to be this amount.

What does that cover?
Pre-natal care for the birthmother (everything from housing, utilities, maternity clothes, toiletries etc)
Legal Fees
Social Services (transportation to and from doctor's appointments, counseling, phone time, etc)
Case Administration
Birth Certificates
Baby's Medical Expense
Birth Mother's medical (if not covered by Medicaid)
Travel fees
Our Adoption Consultants service fee
Our home study fee
Cost of our profile book-design & printing

Why fundraise?
To be honest, we just don't have the money! When we started our adoption journey, we were very intimidated by how much we were going to spend. We talked about the cost, thought about it and prayed about it, set a budget and felt a peace about moving forward with our adoption regardless of the high expense. From the time we knew that God was calling us to adoption we knew that he was going to provide the money for us to bring out sweet baby home!

T-Shirt Fundraiser

Our t-shirt fundraiser will be going strong for 17 more days! We have a goal to sell 100! You can order short sleeve, long sleeve or youth in several colors! Thank you SO much to those of you who have already bought shirts!

We also have a youcaring account set up. You can make a tax-free donation where 100% of the proceeds go towards our adoption.

I hope this post has given you a little more insight into our adoption fundraising process! Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have!

We have been so blessed by the response we've had so far to our adoption and fundraising process! We are so thankful for the generous hearts of the people in our life. Stay tuned for more blog posts!

We're ADOPTING!

We're ADOPTING!

Chris, Weston and I are thrilled to announce that we have started the process of adoption! We are incredibly excited and filled with joy about the new direction we feel God is leading our family in. We decided to start this blog so that we could bring our family and friends along with us on this journey!

Let us start by filling you in on how we came to this decision. We started trying to grow our family mid year in 2014. After a year of trying to conceive I was diagnosed with secondary unexplained infertility. After being prescribed multiple medications and a failed intrauterine insemination we felt God leading us towards adoption. We looked into an adoption agency and contacted a social worker, leaving us feeling overwhelmed. We decided to try one last attempt at becoming pregnant, in December 2016  we went through a failed in-vitro fertilization. After many months of prayer and discussions we both agreed that we would go back and look at adoption. As soon as we made the decision to seriously look into adoption, we felt an overwhelming sense of peace, joy and purpose come back into our lives. This helped confirm in our hearts that God was directing our steps towards adoption. Although we are in the early stages of adoption, we are thrilled that God has started to mend the holes in our hearts, and given us refreshed hope and a new dream for our family.

We view adoption as a beautiful picture of the gospel. We pray that adopting a child we will be mirroring God's great love and his adoption of us and his beloved children. We already feel so much love for our future child. We're so excited to see what baby God has picked out to join our family!

Where we are in the process:

We are still in the very beginning stages of adoption. The biggest thing we are working on now is completing our home study. A home study is conducted by a licensed social worker. The purpose of the home study is to educate, evaluate and prepare us for adoption. The home study consists of 3-4 home visits, extensive background check, health evaluations, collecting references, as well as paperwork and interviewing. Once we have completed our home study, we will be approved and one step closer to becoming a family of 4! We are also working on researching and brainstorming creative ways to fundraise and finance our adoption. We will go into the financial aspects of adoption in another post!

How can you help pray for us:

Pray that our home study process will continue to go smoothly and that we will be approved quickly and without any complications. Pray for us as we prepare our hearts and lives for sweet baby Cline! Please pray for God's hand to be in our beautiful child in every stage of their development in the womb. Please pray for the birth mother of our baby. Pray that she would care for her body and baby to the very best of her ability. Pray that through her adoption journey she would truly feel the peace, comfort, and love of God. Pray for her heart as she makes an adoption plan for her baby, that she would feel confident in her decision to give her child the best possible life. Pray for Weston during this journey, he is so excited to hopefully become a big brother soon!

Thank you for joining our adoption adventure! We are so thankful to have the support of our family and friends! Stay tuned for more posts and information on how you can be involved in bringing Baby Cline home!!

Much love,

Chris, Katy & Weston
